This is Fire Chief Kyle McMann. I wanted to continue to update you as to precautions we are taking to fight the coronavirus, also known as “COVID-19.”

In coordination with CDC & OHA guidelines, to protect our staff and slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Marion County Fire District #1 will close its administrative offices (located at 300 Cordon Road NE in Salem) tomorrow, March 19 to the public. Emergency service operations are NOT affected by this office closure.

Business will continue behind the scenes. If you need to reach us for a non-emergency issue call 503-588-6526 extension 0 to or email info@mcfd1.com. Please call 911 if you have an emergency.

I want to reassure you that we have been responding to infectious diseases for a long time. This is not new to us; we have trained on this very situation and are here to help you and your family if you need us.

In the meantime, stay at home, wash your hands, and practice social distancing if you must go out. We will get through this and emerge stronger as a community because of it. Thank you for your support during this difficult time.
