mcfd_ambulanceMarion County Fire District No. 1 is accepting applications to establish a hiring list for the position of lateral and entry-level Paramedic.

Marion County Fire District No. 1 is accepting application packets for the position of Single-Role EMT/Paramedics to fill (1) new 12 hour or 48-hour shifts (48/96 Schedule) and establish hiring list for projected vacancies.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

• Current Oregon EMT Paramedic; or NREMT Paramedic and able to obtain Oregon Certification prior to hire.
(applicants in the EMT testing process are encouraged to apply, hiring will be contingent on receiving EMT certification)
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver license prior to hire.
• NFPA Driver, EVOC certified, or equivalent.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS (ENTRY-LEVEL EMT)

• High Scholl Diploma or GED
• Current AHA CPR/BLS card
• Volunteers in good standing with Marion County Fire District No.1 will receive preference points.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS (ENTRY-LEVEL PARAMEDIC)
• All requirements for Entry Level EMT, and
• Associate degree in Paramedicine or related field.
• ACLS.
• PALS or PEPP Certified.

DESIRABLE EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

• NFPA Instructor I.
• Associate degree in Paramedicine (Lateral).
• NIMS IS-100, 200, 700, and 800.
• NFPA HazMat Awareness, or equivalent.

COMPENSATION

Monthly wage of $4660.78- 5825.98 (EMT) or 5033.65 – 6292.06 (Paramedic) depending on experience. Additionally, a generous Benefit package including Oregon PERS with Employer Contribution, Employer Contributed HRAVEBA and Health/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance. This is an IAFF Local 2557 represented position.

EVALUATION TIMELINE

Qualified candidates will be invited to an assessment center in April 2024 (Final date to be announced later). An extensive background check including driving record, reference check and psychological exam will be conducted prior to final offer.
