Ron Lee

Deputy Chief

Ron Lee was born and raised in Salem, Oregon, and graduated from North Salem High School. Chief Lee knew from a young age that his profession of choice was the fire service. He began his professional education at Chemeketa Community College immediately after high school, earning an Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Services degree, soon followed by an AAS in Fire Suppression.

While pursuing his education, Chief Lee served as a resident volunteer with the Turner Fire District, gaining valuable experience and developing a foundational skillset for his career. He started as a Paramedic Engineer with MCFD#1 in July 1996 and worked as a line firefighter before working his way up to the rank of Captain, where he was responsible for the oversight and direction of fellow firefighters at his assigned station. In July 2019, he accepted the position of Deputy Fire Chief, a leadership role with primary responsibilities that include overseeing operations and fleet management. Away from MCFD No. 1.

Chief Lee enjoys spending time with family, first and foremost. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys many outdoor activities; however, he can most often be seen on the water enjoying fishing in the many rivers Oregon offers.
