MCFD No. 1 provides emergency services to over 60,000 residents in 88 square miles of unincorporated residential, commercial, and agricultural property bordering the cities of Salem, Oregon, and Keizer, Oregon.

Fire | EMS | Rescue | Wildfire

The Marion County Fire District No. 1 is not part of the city of Salem or Marion County but is an independent “special service district” and is a combination agency supported by career and volunteer personnel. We provide Fire, EMS, and emergency services to residents who are in unincorporated Marion County.

Becuase 80% of our calls involve a medical situation, all of our Career personnel are either Firefighter-EMT-Paramedics or Single Role EMT-Paramedics

A Message from Our MCFD No. 1 Fire Chief

Within our Organization, there are Five Basic Rules which every member knows and consistently practices:

The success of our organization is dependent upon the proper mixture of talented, dedicated, and capable personnel, command staff, and board members. This balance is critical to our ability to serve our community in the best possible manner.
