Captain Joshua Darland was hired as the Training Officer in January of 2014. Captain Darland comes to MCFD #1 with 24 years of experience in Fire and Emergency Medical Services including structural and wildland firefighting, Advanced Life Support medical response and transport.
Captain Darland holds an Associates Degree in Emergency Management, maintains an Oregon Paramedic license and numerous fire service certifications. Captain Darland works with the Assistant Training Officer and is responsible for managing the District’s training program including planning, scheduling, certification, re-certification, program evaluation, records retention as well as direct delivery of education and skills training.
When not at work, Captain Darland enjoys family activities and working on his family farm with his wife Carmen and four children: Jessa, Gabriel, Onya and Noah.
